The study covered the entire urban area, examining the functional road hierarchy, traffic flows, the operation of major intersections, traffic signage, and the characteristics of the existing parking system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As part of the project, extensive traffic data were collected and analyzed to evaluate existing operating conditions and support the development of traffic management proposals. The proposed measures included traffic regulations, road safety enhancement measures, upgraded traffic signage, and the design of a Controlled Parking System, aiming to improve accessibility for both residents and visitors while establishing an integrated traffic management framework that promotes sustainable mobility, enhances road safety, and contributes to the more efficient operation of the urban road network and parking system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Main actions included:<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Assessment of the existing road network, traffic flows, horizontal and vertical traffic signage, and functional road hierarchy.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Comprehensive traffic surveys, including traffic volume counts, turning movement counts, and operational assessment of key intersections.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Development of traffic management measures, including one-way street schemes, traffic direction changes, and other circulation improvements.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Evaluation and proposal of road safety enhancement measures, traffic signal installations, and operational improvements at critical locations within the network.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Survey and analysis of parking supply and demand, parking turnover, and parking characteristics.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Design and spatial planning of a proposed Controlled Parking System within the city center to ensure efficient management of available parking spaces.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Sponsor:<\/span><br>Municipality of Tripoli<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The project involved the preparation of a comprehensive transportation and traffic study for the Municipality of Tripoli, aiming to assess the existing traffic conditions, identify key operational issues within the road network, and develop targeted measures to improve mobility, road safety, and parking management.
