The scope of the project involved the implementation of traffic interventions at Peran Square in Nea Ionia, following the pedestrianization of Peran Street. The interventions aimed to upgrade the area and improve residents’ quality of life. The project focused on traffic organization, enhancement of road safety, and the creation of a more functional and attractive public space.
Main actions include:
- Assessment of existing conditions
- Collection of data (traffic volumes) through field surveys
- Proposal of interventions such as traffic calming measures, adjustment of traffic signal timings, installation of a new traffic signal, and parking restrictions where required
- Preparation of an integrated traffic intervention study
The central objective of the project was the overall regeneration of Peran Square and its transformation into a safe and welcoming space for residents and visitors.
