The project involved the evaluation of the road difficulty factor of the interurban bus routes operated by KTEL Arcadia, with the aim of assessing their operational performance and developing an objective indicator for route evaluation. The study was based on the geometric and operational characteristics of the road network, supporting the planning and improvement of interurban public transport services.
Main actions included:
- Assessment of the characteristics of the interurban bus routes operated by KTEL Arcadia,
- Development of a GIS-based spatial analysis methodology,
- Calculation of the road difficulty factor for all interurban bus routes,
- Evaluation and ranking of the routes based on the analysis results.
The primary objective of the project was to develop a reliable route evaluation tool capable of supporting transport planning, service scheduling, and informed decision-making for improving the operation of interurban public transport.
