The project involved the assessment of the risk level associated with the routes used by Coca-Cola HBC’s transport contractors for product distribution to customers throughout Greece. The study aimed to identify and evaluate factors affecting road safety and to develop a systematic methodology for route risk assessment, contributing to safer product distribution.
Main actions included:
- Field inspections and assessment of routes serving wholesale customers and selected retail locations across Greece,
- Recording of the geometric, operational, and traffic characteristics of each route and identification of high-risk locations,
- Development of a road safety-based risk assessment methodology and classification of routes according to their risk level,
- Preparation of recommendations and safe driving guidelines to support transport operators and professional drivers.
The primary objective of the project was to improve road safety during product distribution through the systematic assessment of routes, the identification of critical risk locations, and the promotion of safe driving practices.
